Having a mental illness is a way of being unique. I, for example, was diagnosed with schizophrenia, and it’s given me a way to look at life differently. Now I appreciate the way my life looks. I’m able to withstand my illness with support from my family and friends. I learned to let all my emotions out, since it can only drag me down to hold it in. Expressing your emotions, as they say, can lift a weight off your shoulders.

We can’t think of a more relaxing place to be creative than at the beach. FHR’s Rhode Island region recently took a Studio 35 art trip, drawing inspiration from the ocean.

As Studio 35 has continued to grow and help many of the individuals in FHR’s programs in multi-facts of their lives, there has been a transition in Studio 35 as a program that offers not only creative art groups, but also organized community involvement, art shows, social, vocational, and coping skill development,
