FHR North Carolina is embarking on a new project as part of Studio 35. As FHR’s diverse healing arts program, the possibilities with Studio 35 are endless. Most recently, members utilized their creative talents to design and sell an array of stained-glass stepping stones.
Staff members and residents from both Ralph Street and Broadway gathered together for FHR Maine’s annual “Camp Day” at Walton’s Campground this year. Homemade pickles and outdoor games were just some of the highlights from the day.
Although FHR has implemented Peer Recovery Services in its programs for quite some time, the National Association of State Mental Health Program Directors (NASMHPD) is providing funds to introduce Peer Wellness Coaches to organizations across the State of Rhode Island.
The special day began with a single thought, and before they knew it, the peers at the Dorothy Bearse Apartments had turned the idea of hosting a neighborhood barbeque into a reality.
After attending and even leading some activities at the Acceptance, Change, Empowerment (ACE) Center at FHR, Sharon C. and Bert R. decided to give back to their peers in a way that staff members say will be remembered forever.
